Meredith Tanzer lives in San Francisco, California and loves to create dolls that are fun, with spunky attitude. Meredith's specialties are crazy fun hair, glittery fabrics and lots of details. About which dolls she prefers to use she says, "I love Mattel dolls the most. I am not particular about face molds...I think they all lend themselves to particular doll styles." Meredith's favorite colors to work with are black, silver, electric blue, green, and purple...she loves rich deep colors accented with something that you wouldn't expect. Meredith got started customizing about a year ago, when she had amassed a selection of dolls and was running out of room in her house. She then started creating little scenes with them in each room. They were really basic at first, using Mattel clothes and minor adjustments. Then she did her first swap for Halloween in 1998, which was a ladybug. From then on, Meredith was hooked. She says that the best aspect of customizing is that inspiration and influence is everywhere!
