fifties influence and delicate painting is evident in the work of
Suzy Sease

and her darling dolls

Hi, my name is Suzy Sease and I live in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania - right on the Mason Dixon line. I like to make any & all kinds of dolls, I think my favorite would have to be ones that look like shoppers or the june cleaver kind of styles. My all time favorite dolls both to collect & work on are the mackie faced dolls. They can be taken from mild to wild & still look good no matter what style you do them in. I like anything purple, but I also like bold colors. The only color that bores me at times to work with is red, but that's only because it's one that seems to be used a lot by a lot of people and I love variety of colors for artist dolls. I started customizing so long ago its hard to remember how I got started!! I first did a lot of crafts, and then I used to do gowns in the plastic canvas, barbie trinket boxes etc, but then I decided to give a try at doing some hair & facial painting, then I was on my way. Back when I started, there wasn't even a name for what I was doing!!!! For me, the best aspect of customizing is the people I have met & also getting to learn how to do more to the dolls & also the swapping of other dolls. One of the best parts of collecting for me is the artist dolls; they have become a major part of my barbie collecting. I also like collecting Teddy Bears, mostly annette funicello & Boyds. And I have a nice-sized Lady & the Tramp collection. I use to raise cocker spaniels, so that's my all time favorite disney movie. I've started to dabble in Gene, not to mention a few years into Dawn dolls & the Grow Hair Crissy & family. My most off-the-wall hobby is racing, I use to race street cars & now I'm attempting to race legends cars in the future & I also own vintage cars!!!!
